Must See Art: Westminster Gallery

Where to go:
Westminster Gallery
1200 Marquette Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55403 (Map)

What to do:
1. See Won’t You Be My Neighbor? through September 11
This show features art created by members and friends of Westminster Presbyterian Church based on Mr. Rogers’ famous question asked on his television show.

2. Browse the Westminster Collection and the Martha Spencer Rogers Crèche Collection
The first, housed throughout the building, tells Biblical and secular stories from multi-cultural and multi-ethnic viewpoints, while the second includes more than 200 nativities from all over the world.

3. Schedule a tour
Rodney Schwartz, director of the Westminster Gallery and Archive, is always willing to give guests a personal tour of the space and the art. Contact him ahead of time by email at RSchwartz@wpc-mpls.org or by phone at 612-332-3421.

Must-see piece right now:
Face to Face by Bashir Qonqar, acrylic on muslin, Palestine, 2010 (pictured above)

While you’re in the area:
Westminster is located at the south end of Nicollet Mall and is a great starting point for a walking tour of downtown churches and their art. There are many excellent restaurants nearby for an al fresco lunch either before or after.
