1. Come see Robyne Robinson’s private collection in Robyne Robinson: Hands and Heart running February 1 through April 13 in the O’Shaughnessy Educational Center lobby gallery. Selected work ranges from around the world and will include her custom-made jewelry.

2. Listen to Robinson’s lecture “The Impact of Global Urbanism in Art and Design” on March 16 at 6:30 p.m.

3. Visit the new American Museum of Asmat Art in the new Anderson Student Center opening February 23.

Whether you’re looking for some world perspective or unique gift ideas for Valentine’s Day, Robyne Robinson: Hands and Heart is a great excuse to get onto St. Thomas’s campus. Situated in Saint Paul’s beautiful Summit Avenue community, St. Thomas offers a variety of activities for visitors from the O’Shaughnessy Education Center lobby gallery to the many food venues at the new Anderson Student Center to simply walking along Summit Avenue and enjoying the architecture. Art Shanty Projects 2012

Grab your coat and head to the lake tomorrow, January 14th, for the opening weekend of Art Shanty Projects 2012. This four week exhibition is part sculpture park, part artist residency and part social experiment which adds up to arguably the best way for art lovers to embrace the winter weather.

This year’s shanty offerings include such projects as Robot Reprise, Sashay Shantay, Monsters Under The Bed Shanty, Solar Ark Shanty and Dance Shanty among others. Don’t miss your chance to get a peek at all of them!

Don’t forget winter safety while you’re visiting. Dress warmly to protect yourself from the wind, wear appropriate footwear for snow and ice and do not drive your car onto the lake. Please do not bring dogs or alcoholic beverages to the projects
